From The Press of Atlantic City — A man wanted on burglary charges in Mullica Township tried to make a run for it when confronted by Somers Point police, according to Capt. Mike Boyd.

Somers Point police got word from Mullica police that Eric Inman, 27, of Egg Harbor City, might be staying at the Mystic Point Apartments on Exton Road.

At about 11 a.m., Inman fled out of one of the rear apartments into the marshes between the complex and the Garden State Parkway, Boyd said. Police called in Somers Point and Egg Harbor Township K-9 units, Boyd said, and Inman was eventually captured, arrested and charged with burglary and resisting arrest.

The arresting officer was Patrolman Howard Dill. A judge hasn’t set Inman’s bail, Boyd said.

Mullica Det. Sgt. John Thompson Jr. could not be reached for comment about details of the burglary.
