Effective January 1st 2009, the ACUA will begin Single Stream Collection. Single stream means people no longer need to keep bottles and cans separate from paper and cardboard; all materials can be combined in the same recycling container. The ACUA will also be accepting more types of plastics for recycling. All plastic containers with the recycling symbol and the number 1 to 7 are now recyclable.
