From The Press of Atlantic City — Three teenagers were arrested after they allegedly robbed a liquor store and a police dog tracked them to a home on New York Avenue, police said Friday.
Police said they received a panic alarm at 9:30 p.m. Thursday from Waddell’s Discount Liquor Store on the White Horse Pike at Norfolk Avenue. As the officers were responding, dispatcher Jimmy Czerwinski informed them that an armed robbery was taking place and gave them information about the suspects, police said.
Mullica Township police secured the area and Galloway K-9 Officer Kevin Welsh and his partner, Saber, arrived to track the suspects, police said.
The canine led officers to a home on New York Avenue, where they found three males fitting the description of the suspects provided by the store employee, police said. The officers also recovered a handgun and a large amount of money equal to the amount reported taken from the store.
Mykel Black, 18, of Egg Harbor City, and two juveniles were charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit robbery, police said. One of the juveniles was also charged with possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Black was taken to the Atlantic County Jail on $50,000 cash bail, and the two juveniles were taken to the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center.
Detective R. Christian Cantz and Lt. Rick Kramer headed the investigation. Police said three police departments worked together in a quick and efficient manner to solve the case.

Talk on the street is that one of Mullica’s Officer’s apprehended the first guy. Not at the house but on the street prior to Galloway even getting there. Any truth to this?
