From NBC40.net — The State Forest Fire Service Monday afternoon declared the Wharton State forest fire 100% under control.

The fire broke out last week and consumed more than 1,800 acres. Fire Warden Michael Drake says investigators believe the blaze was deliberately set.

Drake tells us there’s been numerous smaller fires in the area over the past few months.
