A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Greater Egg Harbor Regional District high school off New York Avenue will be held at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 4.

Crews have begun clearing the 66-acre site, and the school is projected to open in the fall of 2010. At the groundbreaking, officials will announce how its name, mascot and team colors will be chosen. Local and state education officials will attend. The rain date is Oct. 5.
