Twelve-year-old Logan Walsh of Mullica Township was honored recently by the mayor and officials of Mullica Township and the County Freeholders.
For the past eight years, Logan has brought blankets, sweatshirts and an assortment of hats and gloves to the Covenant House in Atlantic City for distribution.
Logan announces his blanket drive to neighbors, friends and relatives around Thanksgiving and solicits $10 donations, which he uses for his charitable endeavor.
During the presentation, Mullica Township Mayor William Kennedy presented Logan with an award. A proclamation signed by Chairman Joseph Silipena and Frank Giordano, Freeholder-at-Large, was read and presented with their congratulations.
Jennifer Williams of Covenant House also was present for the ceremony and offered her grateful appreciation for all the work Logan has done on behalf of the residents of Covenant House.
Logan, the son of Tom and Gina Walsh, is a seventh-grade student at the Pilgrim Academy. He is involved in soccer, basketball, karate, the Boy Scouts of America and is an honor roll student. Last summer Logan attended the Junior Young Leaders National Conference in Washington, DC and was invited to attend the Junior Presidential Youth Inaugural Conference in the 56th inauguration of the president.
